graduated in Psychology (2007) from the University of Nottingham (UK) and completed her MSc at the University of Oxford (2010) under the supervision of Prof. Keith Hawton. She completed her PhD in Experimental Psychology at the University of Oxford (2010-2013) under the supervision of Dr. Jennifer Lau and Dr. Susannah Murphy. graduated in Psychology (2018) after studying at the University of Konstanz and Carleton University in Ottawa (Canada). She completed her Master’s degree at Ludwig-Maximillians University in Munich (LMU, 2020) and wrote her Master’s thesis on a multidisciplinary treatment approach for traumatized asylum seekers in cooperation with REFUGIO München. After graduating, she has been working as a research associate at both REFUGIO and for the pairfam-Panel at the the LMU. Svenja also works for the Munich division of the RECAP project at the LMU, co-leading psychoeducation groups for newly arrived asylum-seekers. Within the PRODO group, she is working as a research associate for the CHIMPS-NET study. Leonie Bäumler (Doctoral candidate) worked as an intern on the Prodo trial in 2016. Two years later she graduated in Psychology from the Ludwig-Maximilians-University and started medical school. During her studies she interned at different clinical facilities including the clinic for psychiatry and psychotherapy in Munich (LMU) and Berlin (Charité) as well as JVA Munich and fulfilled a research internship at the institute for regenerative medicine from the University Zürich (Switzerland). She is currently working on her doctoral thesis in the CoCo project, a study of stress reactivity in children of depressed parents.
Sophie Kölbl (Doctoral candidate) graduated with an M.A. in Philosophy from the Ludwig-Maximilians-University (LMU) and is currently studying medicine. During her studies she has completed internships in various clinics, including Dr. von Haunersches Kinderspital and Klinik für Kinder- und Jugendpsychatrie (LMU). She is currently working on her MD/Dr. med. within the CHIMPS-net project where she's analysing interviews with families who participated in the GuG-Auf-Online intervention.
Alannah Booth (Doctoral candidate)graduated with a degree in School Psychology in 2023 from Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich. She also completed her Master’s degree in M.Sc. Psychology: Learning Sciences at LMU in 2025, during which she wrote her Master’s thesis on the CHIMPS-NET Project within the PRODO group. Throughout her studies, Alannah worked at an "Ambulante Erziehungshilfe," providing support to children and families, and served as a research assistant in the Eisbär Project. Currently, Alannah works as a research associate for the Eisbär Project within the PRODO group, where she is investigating the implementation of the "GuG-Auf" program for her doctoral thesis. Additionally, she leads the children's groups for this program.
Anna Bartosch (Doctoral candidate)completed her studies with a Master of Arts in Education in 2020 at Goethe University in Frankfurt a.M. During her studies, she gained experience in various fields – HR, educational support, facilities supporting families and children at SOS Kinderdorf, and in a child and adolescent psychiatric ward. After completing her studies, she began further training as a child and adolescent psychotherapist (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) at MUNIK. During this time, she worked in a clinic in various child and adolescent wards. Since July 2024, she has been supporting the eating disorders working group at our institution and our working group in the Eisbär and KoKo projects. She is now pursuing a doctorate on the topic of ‘The relationship between physiological stress markers and self-assessment in children of parents with and without experience of depressive disorders’.
Elisabeth Baranzew (Research Assistant, Masters Student)completed her dual study program with a B.A. in International Business Administration at DHBW Mosbach (2021) and then worked as a purchasing assistant in an international retail company. In 2022, she began her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the University of Bamberg and is eager to expand her practical knowledge. She supported the Polar Bear Project, which focuses on implementing the "GuG Auf" programme and is now working in the KiWi project for her master thesis
Lily SchneiderLily Schneider (Research Assistant)began her Bachelor's degree in Psychology at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich (LMU) in 2023. Passionate about expanding her understanding and acquiring hands-on experience in psychological research, she has been assisting in the KoKo project and is now supporting other projects in our working group. She finds research highly engaging and is grateful for the opportunity to contribute to a meaningful project at an early stage in her studies.

has been pursuing her Master's degree in Psychology at the Leopold-Franzens-Universität Innsbruck since 2020. She enjoys contributing to psychological research and gaining hands-on experience. She is currently working as a research assistant in the GuG project, where she supports the team in various research activities. She finds research highly engaging and appreciates the opportunity to actively contribute to the team's work.

began her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Ludwig Maximilian University (LMU) in 2023. She is currently completing a three-month research internship with the PRODO group as part of her studies. She is interested in contributing to projects focusing on the prevention of mental health problems and gaining practical experience in research.

began her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Charlotte Fresenius University (CFU) in 2023. Interested in exploring different areas of psychology, she was eager to gain insight into psychological research alongside her studies. As part of her internship, she supports the research team and contributes to ongoing projects. Through this experience, she hopes to further develop her research skills and gain practical insight into the field.
Petra Wagenbüchler (Study Nurse) provides research assistance in all of the group's studies as well as a number of other projects in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the LMU Munich.

Being a Mom herself, she loves to be around kids and to support her colleagues with any help needed in their research work.
Dr. Anca Sfärlea (Post-doctoral researcher and Co-PI) graduated in Psychology from the University of Würzburg, Germany. She works primarily on the GENERAIN and KROKO studies and is co-applicant on the follow-up study GENERAIN-30. She submitted her doctoral thesis on emotion recognition and processing in adolescents with Anorexia Nervosa in 2017 and was since awarded a grant to follow-up this project. During her studies she completed internships at the Stanford Psychophysiology Laboratory (Stanford, USA) and the Max Plank Institute for Human Development (Berlin).
Christina Buhl (Post-Doctoral Researcher and Co-PI) graduated in Medicine from the Technische Universität München and completed her MD/Dr. med. in the KROKO study. She works as head of the "KiWi" project.
